Dear Friends,
It is a matter of great pleasure to know that Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) is bringing out Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) on Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Mental Health and Wellbeing is a very important area of clinical psychiatry in the current scenario. It is very important to learn that mental health should be on one's priority list to lead a happy and peaceful life. Over the past few decades, many new concerns and issues have evolved in this area across the globe. In view of these new developments, this new guidelines are developed. These CPGs are important because a wide range of stakeholders in the country consult the IPS CPGs as a gold standard and these are looked upon in many developing countries too.
The effort given by the members of IPS CPG Task Force to complete the work within the stipulated time needs appreciation. Indian Psychiatric Society is happy in bringing out the latest developments in the field of Mental Health and Wellbeing, and I am sure these CPGs will be very useful to experienced clinicians, young post-graduates, and serious researchers.
I sincerely thank and congratulate IPS CPG Task Force team led by Dr. Shiv Gautam, in addition to all authors on this well-accomplished task. I also thank President Dr. Vinay Kumar and the Executive Council Members of IPS who all put forward their hands for bringing out these very important CPGs. Special thanks to our Editor Dr. OP Singh for publishing the CPGs in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry. I wish that IPS should come up with more such CPGs in future, continuing this healthy and helpful tradition.
Long live IPS!
