Abstract

Global health crises such as the recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have highlighted the unique value of scientific research in the realm of public health and related disciplines. Although we have witnessed rapid growth in scientific output in the past years, concerns regarding scientific rigor and research integrity also emerged.

As a journal devoted to disseminating state-of-the-art articles, Narra J has been accepted for indexing in Scopus as of March 2023 [1]. Being indexed in Scopus is a recognition of the quality of our journal articles, and shows that our strict technical and scientific criteria have been accredited. Certainly, this new era will bring challenges and unique opportunities. Among the main advantages of having a journal indexed in Scopus is the gain of visibility. It also attests to the quality expected by the scientific community; thus, being the author of an article in a journal indexed in Scopus ensures greater chances of citations and recognition. The visibility of research outputs is also a desirable outcome for communities that could benefit from the dissemination of rigorous scientific findings. Scopus requires journal editors to be aware of a variety of criteria, including a rigorous peer-reviewing process and diversity regarding the editorial team (in terms of background, location, and area of expertise) [2]. Finally, the Narra J community would like to acknowledge the efforts of editors, reviewers, and authors for their trust and commitment to high scientific standards.
