Correction for Hideshima et al., Discovery of selective small-molecule HDAC6 inhibitor for overcoming proteasome inhibitor resistance in multiple myeloma

PMCID: PMC10927487  PMID: 38427605

Medical Sciences Correction for “Discovery of selective small-molecule HDAC6 inhibitor for overcoming proteasome inhibitor resistance in multiple myeloma,” by Teru Hideshima, Jun Qi, Ronald M. Paranal, Weiping Tang, Edward Greenberg, Nathan West, Meaghan E. Colling, Guillermina Estiu, Ralph Mazitschek, Jennifer A. Perry, Hiroto Ohguchi, Francesca Cottini, Naoya Mimura, Güllü Görgün, Yu-Tzu Tai, Paul G. Richardson, Ruben D. Carrasco, Olaf Wiest, Stuart L. Schreiber, Kenneth C. Anderson, and James E. Bradner, which was first published October 31, 2016; 10.1073/pnas.1608067113 (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 113, 13162–13167).

The authors note that Figure 3B appears incorrectly: “In Fig. 3B the α-tub blot shown in OPM2 and KMS11 cells (Right) was almost identical to α-tub blot shown in MM.1S and H929 cells (Left). We concluded that the α-tub blot in the OPM2 and KMS11 cells was incorrect, which was introduced by accidentally scanning the wrong blot (from MM.1S and H929), instead of doing the α-tub blot in the OPM2 and KMS11 cells. Repeat experimentation confirmed the original result, and the originally published error does not substantively change the results reported in the article. Nevertheless, we regret the error.”
