The author would like to correct the following error in the online publication of the article.
In the discussion section it says that “more than 3.1 million total hip arthroplasties and 2.5 million total knee arthroplasties are performed every year in Europe”.
The correct statement would be that “more than 3.1 million total hip arthroplasties and 2.5 million total knee arthroplasties are registered in Europe since 1975”.
