Retraction: Jin Chu, Phillip F. Giannopoulos, Carolina Ceballos-Diaz, Todd E. Golde, Domenico Pratico (2012), 5-Lipoxygenase gene transfer worsens memory, amyloid, and tau brain pathologies in a mouse model of alzheimer disease. Ann Neurol., 72: 442–454. https://doi.org/10.1002/ana.23642

The above article, published online on 09 May 2012 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the journal Editor-in-Chief, Kenneth L. Tyler, American Neurological Association and Wiley Periodicals LLC. After concerns about data manipulation were raised, a thorough review of figures 2D, 6A, 6C and 7B by the authors revealed some inappropriate duplication. Given the extent of the identified issues, the authors (Dr. Pratico and Dr. Golde) have lost confidence in the original data, and asked to retract the article since the conclusions can no longer be considered valid. The co-authors, Jin Chu, Phillip F. Giannopoulos and Carolina Ceballos-Diaz were unavailable for comment.
