The pink SPIKENET peptide residues are shown on the top, and the yellow amino acid residues of the RBD from SARS-CoV-2—two are shown at the bottom. The SPIKENET peptide consists of 15 amino acid residues, 14 of which are shown in non-bonded interactions with the RBD of SARS-CoV-2, proving that SPIKENET has a significant binding affinity with the spike glycoprotein-1. These findings strongly suggest that SPIKENET is a potent competitive inhibitor of S1 [13].
