Former general practitioner Darlington (b Edinburgh 1920; q Edinburgh 1943), d 26 November 2001.
After qualifying, he worked with the Royal Army Medical Corps in France, Belgium, Germany, and Somaliland. After the war, in 1947 he went into general practice in Forfar, Angus, followed by Dumfries from 1949. In 1952, he became British Rail medical officer for the north east. He returned to general practice in 1967 in Darlington until retirement. Predeceased by his first wife, Eve, he leaves his second wife, Jessica; two daughters; and five grandchildren.
