Former surgeon Ontario and Guernsey (b Grangemouth 1911; q Edinburgh 1935; FRCP Ed; FRCSC), died from a heart attack on 21 November 2001.
After house jobs, he served as a surgical specialist in the second world war in East Africa, Abyssinia, the Middle East, Libya, and Italy. After four years as a surgical partner in a group practice in what is now Zimbabwe, he moved to Canada, where he became a surgical consultant in Ontario. In 1968 he moved to Guernsey, retiring in 1976. In 1980, after a round the world cruise, he returned to live on the UK mainland. Predeceased by his wife, Mona, he leaves three children.
