William Marshall Walker

Alasdair Walker
PMCID: PMC1124347

Former general practitioner Glasgow (b Glasgow 1926; q Glasgow 1950), d 15 March 2002.

After national service in the Royal Army Medical Corps, Marshall Walker joined a practice in Hillington and Govan, Glasgow, where he remained until he retired. During his years in practice he saw the change from a surgery in his home and a Glasgow tenement to custom-built health centres with appointment systems. Although Marshall was beset by increasing cardiac problems, he and his wife, Jean, were able to travel all over the world, and he had time to devote to his collection of Clyde river steamer photographs. He leaves Jean; four children; and eight grandchildren.
