Former consultant orthopaedic surgeon Airedale General Hospital (b Wales 1935; q Cardiff 1960; FRCS), died from complications after a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm on 12 October 2002.
Ray Norton was appointed a consultant at Airedale in 1971, soon after the hospital opened, and worked there until he retired in 2000. Outside medicine he loved nature, architecture, and film. He enjoyed using his hands to restore furniture and mend clocks. He leaves a wife, Anne; a son; two daughters; and a grandson.
