Former general practitioner east London (b Ireland 1937; q Dublin 1960), died in a car crash on 26 November 2002.
Mary Lavelle practised as a general practitioner in Custom House Surgery, London E16, for 32 years before retiring five years ago. Dr Lavelle enjoyed golf and was a member of Wanstead Golf Club. She leaves a husband, Thomas; four children; and three grandchildren.
