The above article, published online on April 23, 2013, in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the co‐authors, M. Al‐Obaidi, S. Golbabapour, and P. Hassandarvish, the journal Editor‐in‐Chief, Joseph Sung, the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Foundation, and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd. The retraction has been agreed upon following an investigation into concerns raised by a third party, which revealed inappropriate duplication of images between this, and eight other articles published elsewhere. The same images were used to represent the same condition in these articles, yet different experimental details were reported for the represented groups. Given the extent of the identified issues, the editors have lost confidence in the data presented. R. Al Batran, F. Al‐Bayaty, M. Ameen Abdulla, M. Hajrezaei, M. Fouad, S. Talaee and their institution were informed of the decision to retract but remained unresponsive.
