This article has been retracted at the request of the editor-in-chief. Concerns regarding image recycling were posted to a Pubpeer thread (https://pubpeer.com/publications/3615008EC60517D21F4FD3F3B7FD50). Similarities were found between images in this article and other articles in this same journal, Molecular Therapy Nucleic Acids (Feng et al., 2019, Mol. Ther. Nucleic Acids 18, 375–387, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.omtn.2019.08.024; Wu et al., 2020, Mol. Ther. Nucleic Acids 23, 13–26, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.omtn.2020.10.035). Image analysis performed by the editorial office confirmed the findings of image reuse with Figures 3F, 3G, and 5C. This reuse of data without appropriate attribution represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The notice of retraction was undeliverable to all authors except for the corresponding author. No response was received from the corresponding author.
