The International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy (IJSPT) is proud to present you with this special issue, in collaboration with the Swiss Sports Physical Therapy Association (SSPA), and in conjunction with the 2024 annual conference November 8, in Bern, Switzerland.

The topic Neurocognitive Enriched Rehabilitation has seen recent advances in neuroscience and motor learning. In the last decade, research groups in the US and in Europe have provided ground-breaking knowledge to better understand the role of the brain in preventing and recovering from ACL injuries. We’re pleased and thankful that some of these researchers, such as Anne Benjaminse and Dustin Grooms, who are also among the speakers at the SSPA conference, have actively contributed to this special issue!

The SSPA and the IJSPT have been partners for more than 20 years. We firmly believe that open access is one of the keys to effective dissemination and promotion of clinically relevant evidence, as well as sharing trends and practices in sports physical therapy worldwide. We also believe that only with true open international cooperation we can together advance the rehabilitation and care of our athletes worldwide.

IJSPT readers will be able to relive the 2024 SSPA conference on the SSPA YouTube channel (sportfisioswiss - YouTube), a free educational resource for the sports PT community worldwide. We also remind our readers that they can find our popular Journal Club series on the IJSPT Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@IJSPT/videos).

We hope you’ll enjoy reading this IJSPT special issue, and “may the international power be with you!”.
