Co-Author Valerie Sampson contacted the journal and admitted to manipulating samples and incorrectlyreporting of data for Figure 2B, Western blot of tissue lysates. Specifically, the samples in the Methods section - Protein Analysis of Tissue Lysates, were altered for the desired result of cleaved protein shown in Figure 2B and outlined in the Results, Section - Alteration of tissue decorin and metalloproteases distribution in the perianastomotic region of operated vessels). The other authors were unaware of the misconduct until notified by the co-author. The Authors would like to sincerely apologise to the members of staff of JVS-VS, the reviewers who provided the reviews for the manuscript, and all who were involved in the publication of this manuscript and anyone who is impacted by the actions of the Co-Author.
