In the original publication of this manuscript, there was an error in the first sentence of section Choosing Specimens. This should read: “We also faced a decision as to which single specimen to use to represent each taxon.” instead of: “We also faced a decision as to which a single specimen to use to represent each taxon.”

And there was also an error in section More training in using 3D data, the second paragraph, first sentence. This should read; “Information technology (IT) professionals form an important support community within museums[…]” instead of “Information technology (IT) professionals is an important support community within museums[…]”.

Emendation has been made to the article.
