Corridor scenes capture hospital life

Annabel Ferriman
PMCID: PMC1171998

Photographic artist Gina Glover was given the task of documenting the history and current life of the Central Middlesex Hospital, north west London, through a portrayal of the scenes along its main corridor.

The resulting collection of contemporary photographs (including the one above), yellowing pictures found in filing cabinets, and old documents recording past events form an exhibition called "Corridor Voices," which opened in the hospital's main corridor this weekend.

The exhibition, which was financed by the King's Fund, will be slightly updated every six months—until the corridor is no longer there (the hospital is due for redevelopment in four years' time).
