We wish to thank Peyman Hadji, currently working at the Frankfurt Hormone and Osteoporosis Center, Frankfurt, Germany for his wonderful support and enthusiasm over the past 12 years as one of the editors in chief of the Journal of Bone Oncology (JBO). Peyman was one of the founding editors in 2012 of what is still the only journal specifically focussed on the biology, treatment and natural history of cancer induced bone diseases. From humble beginnings JBO has grown in standing, the number of articles published each year has increased and, most importantly under his guidance, the quality of submissions has steadily improved. We are extremely grateful to Peyman for his wisdom, dedication and influence in the field of bone oncology which has greatly helped Dominique Heymann, Julie Rhoades and myself as the other editors of JBO to make the journal a success within a highly specialised area of oncology and bone diseases.
As we say goodbye to Peyman, we welcome Stella D’Oronzo as the new editor with a specific focus on clinical management. Stella is a medical oncologist based at the LUM Giuseppe Degennaro University Department of Medicine and Surgery, Casamassima, in Bari, Italy and has had a long interest in the field with multiple collaborations for more than 10 years with other experts in both Italy and the United Kingdom. I’m sure she will bring fresh and enthusiastic expertise to the journal and help us further develop the journal and improve its reputation and standing in both the cancer and bone biology fields.
