This article has been retracted at the request of the editor-in-chief. A third party posted image concerns involving Figures 3C and 7A on Pubpeer: https://pubpeer.com/publications/520308F697474FE03D81E85B10553C. Image analysis performed by the editorial office revealed the following evidence of image manipulation:
-
1.
Apparent splicing between lanes in Figure 1H
-
2.
Apparent cloning of lanes in Figure 3C
-
3.
Duplication of the LV sD5 apoB images between Figures 6A and 7A
In response to the apparent duplication between the Non-tg, CHMP2B image and LV sD5, CHMP2B images in Figure 7A, the corresponding author stated that the incorrect image was used to represent the “Non-tg LV control” conditions for the sections double labeled with anti-myc and CHMP2B. Thus, there was a partial overlap with the “synuclein tg LV-sD5” condition. The corresponding author stated that the synuclein tg LV-sD5 condition image is correct, and they were able to locate the correct images for the Non-tg LV control.
The authors provided any available original data upon request; however, the initial concerns could not be alleviated. Thus, the editors have lost faith in the findings presented in this study. The original notice of retraction was undeliverable to authors T.G., A.A., S.M., and E.R. Authors B.S. and E.M. disagree with this retraction and dispute the grounds for it.
