Basis Science Focus Forum Supplement introduction

This Basic Science Focus Forum Supplement is gathered from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Annual Meeting in 2023 in Seattle, Washington. The Basic Science Committee organized several high-level symposia that were paired with the basic science and translational research presentations. This supplement contains review articles of these symposia and is authored by the expert presenters who were organized to present at the symposia. These review articles are centered on several hot topics in orthopaedic trauma: additive manufacturing in orthopaedic traumatology, infection, pain management after skeletal trauma, and muscular injury in orthopaedic trauma. This supplement should provide the latest in basic science research in orthopaedic trauma on these topics as we look to enhance our clinical practice.
