Obesity Pillars has historically required that prospective, randomized, controlled intervention clinical trials have Clinicaltrials.gov registration and NCT number or their equivalent from other countries. Additionally, as of July 2025, Obesity Pillars is requiring an NCT number or equivalent for any submission reporting the results of a clinical trial where participants are prospectively assigned to a therapeutic intervention, even if the clinical trial was not randomized and/or even if not controlled.
