The study utilized historical data from oral health surveys conducted in 1989, 2003, 2012, and 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City. Ethical approval for the 2019 survey and authorization to use previous data was granted by the Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Hospital (Approval No. 542/BVRHM, 16 Nov 2017). For the 2019 data collection, written informed consent was obtained from all minor participants' parents or legal guardians, while the children sought verbal assent before the examination. The study adhered to ethical guidelines for research involving human participants, ensuring that all procedures posed minimal risk and were comparable to standard dental examinations.
