The Editor has retracted this article. Following publication, concerns were raised about the feasibility and results of the randomized control trial reported in this publication. These concerns pertain, but are not limited to, the observed number of asymptomatic bacteriuria and acute cystitis cases in the control and lactoferrin groups, the absence of missing values for participants, and the statistical data reported. The authors did not provide an explanation for these concerns. The Editor no longer has confidence in the results and conclusions of this article.
