In the published article entitled “Therapeutic potential of anti-miR29a in breast cancer patients with type 2 diabetes: an in vitro and xenograft mouse-model study” (Transl Cancer Res 2022;11:1285-1296; doi: 10.21037/tcr-22-824) (1), Figure 5D was published incorrectly. The original image was inadvertently misused due to an oversight during the figure layout process and does not accurately reflect the experimental results of this study.
The updated version of Figure 5 and the corrected legend for Figure 5 are provided below. This correction does not affect the main findings or conclusions of the study. The authors sincerely apologize for this mistake and for any inconvenience it may have caused to the editors, reviewers, and readers of the journal.
Figure 5.
Anti-miR-29a suppressed breast cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice. (A) Xenograft tumours were obtained from MDA-MB-231 cells with anti-miR-29a and control vector-transfected cells in situ. (B,C) Tumour weight and volume were observed and recorded for the T2DM mice indicated above. (D) Histological analysis of the lungs isolated at necropsy (H&E staining, magnification ×200). (E) The average number of visible lung metastatic nodules/mouse was determined. (F) The percentage of mice with visible lung metastatic nodules was determined. **, P<0.01.
