PMCID: PMC12580041  PMID: 41185640

Fang Y, Liang X, Xu J, Cai X. Cancer Manag Res. 2018;10:6537–6547.

We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal Cancer Management and Research, have retracted the published article.

After publication, the authors contacted the Journal in 2025 requesting correction to Figure 7 of their article due to errors which occurred during figure preparation.

Further investigation conducted by the Journal and Publisher identified integrity concerns, including unexpected overlaps in Figure 7c of the article with Figure 2c of the authors’ previous publication that are representative of different treatment conditions:

Xu J, Wan X, Chen X, et al. miR-2861 acts as a tumor suppressor via targeting EGFR/AKT2/CCND1 pathway in cervical cancer induced by human papillomavirus virus 16 E6. Sci Rep. 2016;6:28968. https://doi.org/10.1038/srep28968

As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed. The authors have agreed to retract the article.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
