Expression of concern: “Multidrug resistance, biofilm formation and detection of bla_CTX-M and bla_VIM genes in E. coli and Salmonella isolates from chutney served at the street-food stalls of Bharatpur, Nepal” [Heliyon 9 (2023) e15739]

Post publication, an investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team discovered that the acceptance of this article was partly based upon the positive advice of reviewers who were closely linked to one of the authors Rijal Komal. This compromised the editorial process and breached the journal's policies.
