The undersigned authors note, “This article is being retracted on the recommendation of the University of Kansas Medical Center Office of Research Integrity, following an investigation that found apparent duplications of Western blot images in the CUGBP2 bands presented in Fig. 3C. Additionally, we acknowledge spliced images were identified in Fig. 1A, likely resulting from the removal of irrelevant lanes, which was an acceptable practice at the time. The original data were destroyed in a flood and thus this cannot be confirmed.” The journal was unable to reach Debnath Mukhopadhyay, Terrence E. Riehl, Thiruvengadam Arumugam, and Brian K. Dieckgraefe.
