Following publication of the original article, the author would like to correct the Oil Red O staining paragraph.
The Paragraph currently reads:
In the Methods section, the original description of Oil Red O Staining was: The tumor tissues were excised from the mice and imme diately placed in 4% paraformaldehyde for fixation at room temperature for 24 h. The tissue samples were then dehydrated through a graded series of ethanol and embedded in paraffin. Once the paraffin had solidified, the tissues were sectioned and mounted on slides. After deparaffinization and rehydration, the sections were stained with Oil Red O solution at room temperature in the dark for 10 min. Following staining, the sections were briefly immersed in 70% ethanol to remove any non-spe cific staining and then rinsed three times with distilled water. The cell nuclei were counterstained with hematox ylin solution for 1 min at room temperature. Finally, the slides were coverslipped, and the distribution and quan tity of lipid droplets were observed and photographed under a microscope.
The paragraph should read:
The tumor tissues were excised from the mice and fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at room temperature for 4 h. After fixation, the samples were immersed in 30% sucrose solution at 4 °C overnight for cryoprotection, and subsequently embedded in OCT compound. Once the embedding was complete, the tissues were cryosectioned at a thickness of 8 μm using a cryostat and mounted onto glass slides. The sections were then air-dried at room temperature and rinsed with PBS. For lipid staining, the sections were incubated with freshly prepared Oil Red O working solution at room temperature in the dark for 10 min. Excess dye was removed by brief immersion in 70% ethanol, followed by rinsing with distilled water three times. The nuclei were then counterstained with hematoxylin solution for 1 min at room temperature. Finally, the sections were coverslipped, and the distribution and accumulation of lipid droplets were examined and imaged under a light microscope.
The original article has been corrected.
