Retraction of: Scientific Reports 10.1038/srep08209, published online 03 February 2015
The Editors have retracted this Article.
After publication, concerns have been raised about the integrity of some of the figures. Specifically,
a blot for p-ERK1/2 in Figure 5 appears to be horizontally flipped and partially overlapping with the blot for ERK1/2 in Figure 11B in a different paper by the same authors1;
a blot for p-SAPK/JNK in Figure 5 appears to be vertically flipped and partially overlapping with the blot for p-JNK in Figure 11C in1;
FACS image for A779 in Figure 1 appears to be similar to Annexin V-FTC image in Figure 5 in a different paper by different authors2, control images between those figures also appear to overlap;
FACS image for LPS in Figure 1 appears to be similar to ARAEC + image in Figure 6C in a different paper by different authors3;
FACS image for LPS in Figure 1 appears to be also similar to miR-150 mimics image in Figure 6C in another different paper by different authors4;
FACS image for ACE2 + A779 + LPS in Figure 1 appears to be similar to RAEC image in Figure 6 in3;
FACS image for shACE2 + LPS in Figure 1 appears to be similar to the other ARAEC + image in Figure 6C in3;
FACS image for ACE2 + LPS in Figure 1 appears to be similar to HL-60-LC + OA in Figure 4 in a different paper by different authors5.
The Editors requested provision of the original data underlying the paper, but received no reply from the Authors. The Editors therefore no longer have confidence in the integrity of the data in this Article.
Yingchuan Li, Yongmei Cao, Zhen Zeng, Mengfan Liang, Ying Xue, Caihua Xi, and Wei Jiang did not respond to the correspondence from the Editors about this retraction. The Editors were not able to confirm the current contact details for Ming Zhou.
