Abstract

Four cases of perforating corneal injuries as a result of work-related injuries are presented. All were managed with a bandage contact lens and surgical intervention was avoided. Topical pilocarpine was used to free incarcerated iris in two cases. All patients received a course of broad-spectrum systemic antibiotics, and also used topical preservative-free chloramphenicol for the duration of contact lens wear. No lens related complications occurred. Final unaided visual acuities were the same or better than at presentation.
