Erratum in: Histological Assessment of Foveal Mechanical Instability and Potential Implications for Macular Diseases

PMCID: PMC12949459  PMID: 41738940

Erratum in: “Histological Assessment of Foveal Mechanical Instability and Potential Implications for Macular Diseases” by Isabela Martins Melo, Jeffrey D. Messinger, Christine A. Curcio, and Rajeev H. Muni (Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci. 2025;66(6):82), https://doi.org/10.1167/iovs.66.6.82.

When the article was first published, the third sentence of the second paragraph of the Introduction cited Reference 5, which was incorrect. It should have cited Reference 26 (Kar D, Singireddy R, Kim YJ, et al. Unusual morphology of foveal Müller glia in an adult human born pre-term. Front Cell Neurosci. 2024;18:1409405). This has been corrected in the article online:

“Another author group using three-dimensional volume electron microscopy, albeit in the retina of an adult born preterm, found, in addition to the classic cells, a separate population of Müller cells that terminated at the level of the outer plexiform layer (OPL).26”
