The authors have retracted this article due to concerns regarding image overlap identified in several figures. Specifically, there is partial overlap in the Western blot bands of MMP2 and control β-actin between BGC-823 and MGC-803 cells in Figure 6A, as well as partial overlap in the siRNA apoptosis images of GES-1 and HGC-27 in Supplementary Figure 2. Further review confirmed that an apoptotic image of HGC-27-siRNA was mistakenly duplicated for GES-1-siRNA.
