This article is being retracted from Clinical Science at the request of the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board and the affiliated institution, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

This follows the receipt of a notification from a reader alerting the Editorial Board to similarities that occur between figures of this article and those of multiple other articles. Specifically, these include:

  • Figure 3C p-p53 panel and the Figure 6 CUL4A panel from Wang et al, 2017 (DOI: 10.3892/ijmm.2017.3118) [retracted]

  • Figure 3C p-p53 panel and the Figure 3e HOXA7 panel (after a horizontal flip transformation) from Tang et al, 2016 (DOI: 10.1186/s12943-016-0540-4) [retracted]

  • Figure 5C Control panel and both the Figure 2D shWDR5 #1 panel (with contrast alteration) and the Figure 2D shWDR5 #2 panel (with contrast alteration and rotation) from Dai et al, 2020 (DOI: 10.2147/cmar.s237582)

  • Figure 5C THS panel and the Figure 2D Mock panel (with contrast alteration) from Dai et al, 2020 (DOI: 10.2147/cmar.s237582)

The authors were contacted regarding the concerns and were able to partially provide data; however, not all the data provided was original data in the uncropped, raw format required. After an investigation carried out by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, it has been concluded that no original raw data can be provided for the Figure 3C H460 cell lines or the H510 cell lines.

In the absence of raw data and given the extent of the issues raised, confidence has been lost in the validity of the data and as such, the Editorial Board stands by the decision to retract. The authors agree to the retraction.
