Following publication, concerns regarding the integrity of b-actin blots in Figures 3A and 3D in the article were raised by a third party and brought to the Publisher’s and Editor’s attention.
As part of the investigation, the authors were asked for any information that would confirm the validity of b-actin blots Figure 3A and 3D. Regarding Figure 3D, authors state that the published actin for this Figure is correct and have provided the original blot. For Figure 3D, the journal is satisfied by the authors’ response, and confirms the Figure is accurate.
The authors state that they do not have the original blot for Figure 3A. However, following review, the Editor confirms that the concerns raised about figure 3A do not affect the overall validity or integrity of the reported findings. We advise readers to interpret the information presented in Figure 3A with due caution.
The authors have been notified about this Expression of Concern. Should further information come to light, the journal will reassess any concern raised.
