Correction to ‘Shaping smell: Chloride currents dictate the kinetics of olfactory transduction’

PMCID: PMC13423116  PMID: 42418446

Fyke, Z., Belonio, K. C, and Zak, J. D. (2024). Shaping smell: chloride currents dictate the kinetics of olfactory transduction. The Journal of Physiology, 602(19), 4699–4700. https://doi.org/10.1113/JP287393

This article corrects Figure 1 of the original article, in which the arrows indicating Na+ and Ca2 + flux through the cyclic nucleotide‐gated (CNG) channel were incorrectly directed. The figure has been corrected so that the arrowheads for Na+ and Ca2 + indicate inward movement across the membrane, consistent with physiological conditions in which both ions enter the cell through the CNG channel.

A corrected Figure 1 is provided below.

Figure 1. Olfactory transduction in wild‐type and Tmem16b knockout mice.

Figure 1

The removal of TMEM16B from the olfactory transduction cascade limits the amplification of olfactory transduction currents (top), and adaptation across repeated sampling (bottom).

We apologise for this error, which does not alter the interpretation of the original article.
