Molecular Therapy Oncology is retracting this article at the request of the authors and the editor-in-chief. Corresponding author Xiao-Ling Gao contacted the editorial office on behalf of all authors asking to withdraw this paper due to “issues with the current manuscript.” Concerns regarding this article are also described on Pubpeer (https://pubpeer.com/publications/1F47CCB60600F7058F8DF9F781BB46). Readers drew attention to similarities between the figures in this article and articles in Cell Death and Disease (Tang et al., 2021, Cell Death Dis. 12, 422, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41419-021-03703-x) and Cancer Gene Therapy (You et al., 2021, Cancer Gene Ther. 28, 719–736, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41417-020-00269-2). Image analysis performed by the editorial office revealed evidence of image duplication involving Figures 1A, 2C, 3A, 3C, 4A, 6F, and S1C of this article. This reuse of data without appropriate attribution represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The authors do not agree with this retraction.
