In the article entitled “Metformin suppresses vascular smooth muscle cell senescence by promoting autophagic flux”, the authors regret to note that Figure 3D in the published version appears to show intra-group similarity. After repeated verification by our team, we confirmed that the image in Figure 3D corresponds to the negative control group. Because the images of the two groups were stored in the same folder and showed only subtle differences, the image for the negative control was mistakenly misplaced, resulting in apparent similarity between the negative control and blank control panels.
Importantly, this error does not affect the results, data interpretation, or the scientific conclusions of the study. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

In the version of the article initially published, the SA-β-gal staining for control in Fig. 3D (control+Met panel) was incorrect. The correct Fig. 3D is shown below. This notice serves to correct the error.
