The authors of Skoupý et al. (2026) incorrectly assigned GenBank accession numbers to several of the reference strains. The correct accession number for Microcoleus attenuatus A2_D2 16S rRNA gene is MW742771; the correct accession number for M. drouetii AT8_B4 16S rRNA gene is MW742989; the correct accession number for M. pellucidapex N9_A3 genome assembly is JAUBRG000000000; the correct accession number for M. tentaculus S36b_C1 genome assembly is JAUBPG000000000; the correct accession number for M. atroviridis Aus8_D4 16S rRNA gene is MW742807 and the correct accession number for M. crotalus ARI1_A2 16S rRNA gene is MW742728. Furthermore, in the Comment section for M. drouetii, M. persimillus is wrongly stated instead of M. harperi, as being morphologically cryptic.
