Idiopathic steatorrhoea with intestinal pseudo-obstruction

Abstract

This is a case report illustrating a disorder of small intestine motility producing gross muscular hypertrophy and associated with steatorrhoea. The literature is briefly reviewed, and it is suggested that in idiopathic steatorrhoea there is ineffectual peristalsis which leads to stagnation of intestinal contents and hypertrophy of its muscular wall.
