Abstract
The experiments have been performed on fifty-three male guinea pigs of the Dunklin-Hartley strain, weighing approximately 400 g. Subcutaneous injections of horse serum were given daily for periods ranging from 1–21 days, and the marrow basophils were subsequently counted by a quantitative technique, at times varying from 1–25 days after the last injection.
The marrow basophils were found to show increases to nearly nine times their normal level, but gradually diminished both during and after the administration of serum.
