C. elegans protein name | Closest human homolog | BLASTP smallest sum probablility relative to ACY-1 | BLASTP smallest sum probability relative to closest human homolog and (% identity) |
---|---|---|---|
ACY-1 | Adenylyl cyclase, type IX | — | 3.3e-166 (32) |
ACY-4 | Adenylyl cyclase, type VI Ca(2+)-inhibitable adenylyl cyclase | 6.6e-60 | 3.0e-163 (32) |
ACY-2 | Adenylyl cyclase, type II (=mouse type IV) | 6.0e-37 | 8.2e-131 (28) |
ACY-3 (ortholog of fly Rutabaga) | Adenylyl cyclase, type VIII Ca2+/calmodulin activated adenylyl cyclase | 0.058 | 4.4e-44 (9) |
Column 1 lists all C. elegans proteins producing “high-scoring segment pairs” in a TBLASTN 2.0MP search of the C. elegans genome using ACY-1 as the query. Closely related guanylyl cyclases, of which there are many in C. elegans, are not included. The proteins are listed in order of their similarity to ACY-1 on the basis of BLASTP smallest sum probabilities. Closest human homolog descriptions and the corresponding smallest sum probabilities are taken from WormBase Release WS148 (http://www.wormbase.org). Percentage identities were calculated using Vector NTI AlignX and do not include nonaligning N- or C- terminal ends of each protein pair. Accession numbers for the C. elegans/human proteins are: ACY-1 (NP_497970/ O60503); ACY-2 (NP_504553/ Q08462); ACY-3 (NP_497765/ P40145); ACY-4 (NP_504486/ O43306).
