General practitioner Plymstock, Plymouth (b 1953; q St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, 1986), died from carcinomatosis on 30 April 2006.

Jacqueline Watson (“Jackie”) graduated in geography before embarking on her medical training. She started work in general practice in Plymstock in 1993. Her gentle nature and approachability were much valued by patients and colleagues. She bore her illness with fortitude, returning to work against the odds in 2003, before being forced to retire the following year. In her leisure time she was an enthusiastic sailor, traveller, and gardener. She leaves a husband, Brian.
