Mobility efficiencies of different Ll.LtrB variants. Mobility efficiencies of different Ll.LtrB constructs were assessed either in the presence (+ Nis) or absence (− Nis) of nisin induction. Two-plasmid mobility assays (Fig. 1A) were performed for all Ll.LtrB constructs presented. However, in cases where the mobility products were not detectable on an agarose gel, the precise mobility efficiency was not scored (N.D. = not determined). Mobility efficiencies represent the average of four or five independent mobility assays. For clarity, the remaining 5′ and 3′ ltrA sequences are not denoted.
