After house jobs in India, Edulji Rustumji Sethna (“Eddy”) trained as a cardiologist in the north of England, gaining his MRCP and DTM&H in less than three years. He spent 21 months in Poona as a consultant physician but returned to Sussex to begin psychiatric training. His special interests were psychotherapy and the management of phobias. The regional registrar rotational training scheme he set up was adopted nationally by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. In retirement Eddy was vice president of the Royal Photographic Society and was recognised nationally and internationally for his contributions to photography. He leaves a wife, Beryl; three children; and seven grandchildren.
