Abstract
Ventilatory function was studied in 12 males who suffered from asthma in childhood, but who had been free of symptoms for an average period of 11 years. Though resting levels of FEV1 and the FEV1/FVC ratio were in most cases normal, an abnormal degree of bronchial lability was found in 7 subjects. An increase in RV was noted in the majority of subjects.
