Abstract
This essay describes the establishment of the Montreal Veterinary College (MVC) in 1866 and its curriculum, faculty, and graduates. Drawing upon his own vision and energy, while convincing the Quebec government and officials of McGill University to support the MVC, Duncan McEachran created one of the most influential veterinary colleges in North America.
