Abstract
Citric acid extracts were prepared from human skeletal and heart muscle. Antibodies of γG-class to components of this extract were demonstrated in twelve out of fifty-three sera from patients with myasthenia gravis. The antigen is poorly soluble in saline but is converted into a soluble form by diluted citric acid. Apparently, the antigen is also present in small amounts in saline extracts of thymus. No cross-reactivity with other organs was demonstrated.
