Determination of the specificity of hepatic stellate cell (HSC) E-box DNA:protein complexes. (A) Competition electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) was performed using nuclear extracts from activated rat HSCs and up to an 80-fold excess of specific (E-box) or non-specific (Sp1) unlabelled double stranded oligonucleotides as competitors. (B) Competition EMSA performed with nuclear extracts from freshly isolated rat HSCs using an 80-fold excess of specific (E-box) or non-specific (Sp1) oligonucleotides.
