Abstract
This article gives guidance for the handling and examination of various types of lung tissue specimens to provide: (1) accurate diagnosis and assessment of severity of disease; (2) sufficient information for the accurate staging of tumours; and (3) an assessment of the contribution of various occupational disorders to the cause of death.J Clin Pathol(J Clin Pathol 2000;53:507–512)
