 (A) The mucosa of the sigmoid colon was hyperaemic, oedematous, and markedly uneven, with multiple ulcers and haemorrhage. The ulcers were irregular in shape and varied in size. Some cotton wool-like vascular pattern (arrow) was also noted in the surrounding mucosa.
